Fuel subsidy was raised by Rp20 trillion, electricity subsidy Rp16.7 trillion, fertilizer subsidy Rp4.4 trillion, and food subsidy Rp2.8 trillion, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said after a plenary cabinet session on the revised 2010 state budget here on Thursday.

She said subsidy for the procurement of rice for the poor was raised by Rp2.3 trillion in line with the government`s decision to increase the amount of subsidized rice for each poor family to 15 kg from 13 kg previously.

The revised 2010 state budget also carried additional government spending, she said.

"A number of budget expenditures have been raised. In response to President`s plan to build more penitentiaries we will allocate Rp700 billion this year and Rp300 billion next year," she said.

She said budget allocations to ministries and state agencies were also raised by Rp15.3 trillion and Rp3.2 trillion respectively.

"So additional budget spending for the central government is Rp47.5 trillion and regional governments Rp11.8 trillion," she said.

State receipts in the revised 2010 state budget also changed from Rp1,107 trillion to Rp1,047 trillion, she said.

The increase in state receipts came from the 2009 state budget leftover totaling Rp38.3 trillion and additional loans totaling Rp1.2 trillion, she said.

In the revised 2010 state budget the assumed oil price was lowered to US$ 77 from US$ 80 a barrel and the budget deficit to Rp132.2 trillion or 2.1 percent from 2.2 percent of the country`s gross domestic product, she said.(PNA/Antara)
